Ryerson Ninjutsu teaches the style of Hoshindo Ninpo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu), which is an enlightened art with a focus on self-development and survival in urban life.  The combat theories and principles in Hoshindo Ninpo Taijutsu make it easy for anyone, at any age, gender or physical ability, to take part in classes.  The fundamentals of the art consists of easy to apply locks, simple strikes, effective pressure points, effortless grappling, and use of traditional and everyday items used as weapons,   Hoshindo Ninpo Taijutsu’s roots stem from the traditional Ninja arts.  The emphasis is on the importance of life skills which include life strategies, philosophy, healing and mediattion to enable the student to live an empowered life, in order for the student to achieve the state of Tatsujin (fully actualized self) through the study of Budo (the way of the warrior).
